Ce logiciel remplit exactement les mêmes fonctions que DOMSlides, ce qui explique que nous avons repris de nombreux point de sa description ici.

Il y a des personnes qui utilisent PowerPoint pour réaliser des présentations basiques de type diaporama. Il y en a d’autres, mieux informées, qui y arrivent tout aussi bien avec le module Impress de la suite bureautique libre OpenOffice.org.
Le problème dans les deux cas c’est qu’on ne sait trop que faire pour exposer ensuite son travail sur le Net, à part la solution pièce jointe qui implique que le récepteur soit à même de lire le format de fichier proposé.

S5 (pour Simple Standards-based Slide Show System", le 5 en exposant est juste là pour signifier les cinq S) vous propose lui de créer vos diaporamas directement en HTML (en fait mieux que ça en XHTML respectueux des standards), autrement dit en pages Web accessibles depuis votre navigateur préféré (genre Firefox).
Il ne s’agit pas d’un "logiciel" proprement dit mais d’un modèle qu’il ne vous reste plus qu’à remplir comme bon vous semble au moyen d’un simple éditeur de texte (genre Notepad2).

Pour vous en faire tout de suite une (bonne) idée voici une présentation maison probante : Développement Web avec Firefox.

Il utilise pour cela du CSS et du JavaScript.
Lorsque le JavaScript de votre navigateur est activé (comme par défaut dans la plupart des cas), vous pouvez faire défiler vos "pages" avec des boutons prévus à cet effet, avec les touches du clavier ou via un sympathique menu toujours accessible en bas à droite. Lorsqu’il est désactivé, toute votre présentation apparait sur une seule page entourée d’un en-tête et d’un bas de page (pratique pour l’impression) car c’est ça qui est étonnant : il n’y a qu’une seule page Web en fait mais habilement scindée en de "fausses diapos".

Parmi ses caractéristiques :

il fonctionne avec la grande majorité des navigateurs
les transparents se redimensionnent à la volée
la totalité de la présentation est contenue dans une page XHTML (dont on appréciera la proprété du code !)
le style est contenu dans les CSS et est donc modifiable facilement
boutons "suivant" et "précédent", mais aussi un menu permettant d’aller directement au transparent désiré (pour faire apparaître ce menu, déplacez la souris en bas à droite du transparent en dessous des flèches de navigation)

Simple, esthétique et efficace, il n’est pas étonnant de retrouver de plus en plus souvent S5 dans les portables des conférenciers et des enseignants.

On notera que la version 1.0 était sous licence Creative Commons BY-SA alors que la version actuelle, la 1.1 est dans le Domaine Public.

On notera également des problèmes de compatibilité avec certaines versions de l’extension Firefox AdBlock dont il conviendra d’avoir la dernière mise à jour.

Effectivement, je suis arrivée à un truc sympa, mais :

1. je me suis envoyée à moi même, vial mail, le fichier html, et je n’ai eu à l’arrivée que la page d’impression (exit la présentation). Que faut-il faire pour envoyer (et recevoir) la zoulie présentation ?

2. j’ai testé la présentation "flower" : la fleur grise (droite de l’écran) est coupée selon la longueur de mon texte, et donc ma page... Moi, j’aime pas les fleurs coupées... Là encore, que faut-il faire ?

Pour le zip effectivement, merci. J’avoue que j’aurai pu y penser toute seule.

Mais, comment faire pour ne pas avoir les images tronquées lorsque le texte n’est pas suffisament long ?

Par ailleurs, pour modifier les CSS, il faut modifier le fichier pretty. Or, il y en a plusieurs. Donc, duquel pretty s’agit-il. Pour ce qui me concerne j’ai essayé successivement sur ces différents fichiers, sans pour autant obtenir une quelconque modification.

Pour ceux qui connaissent le fabuleux outil TiddlyWiki, jusqu’à présent il était possible de l’utiliser pour remplacer powerpoint en bidouillant le css (pas très pratique), mais il vient de sortir un nouveau plugin qui s’inspire de S5, c’est tout simplement ce que j’atendais avec impatience ! Pour ce qui ne connaisse pas TiddlyWiki (il y a une fiche sur frama, par laquelle j’ai découvert cet outil, donc un grand merci !) : c’est un simple fichier html qui contient tout : le contenu à afficher, les outils pour éditer, divers plugin... Juste besoin d’un navigateur pour l’utiliser, et comme tout le monde a un navigateur, plus de prise de tête, votre correspondant pourra à coup sur l’ouvrir. Donc pour moi c’est comme S5, mais beaucoup plus puissant !

Meme probleme que leboulhai , superboulet,ZZa.. ETC... C’est extremement frustrant ! On vous décrit un tres alléchant logiciel sans AUCUN tuto pour le commun des usagers ,j’ai meme pas dit les néophytes ,nuance..

Un petit tuto sur s5 ? Bah, j’veux bien m’y coller et vous livrer un comment faire sur le sujet. C’est pas très dur à maîtriser de toute façon à condition de connaître un tout petit peu le HTML et CSS éventuellement pour le design.

Bonjour,

Je suis enthousiasmé par les possibilités de ce modèle. J’ai jadis voulu me former à la DTD DocBook et aux feuilles XSLT qui permettraient de créer des slides et autres PDF, mais c’est un peu complexe pour mon usage pour l’instant.

Bref : entre S5 et DomSlides, lequel choisir ? Mes besoins (et accointances) :
respect des standards, encore et toujours
paramétrage des l’aspect visuel
propreté du code xhtml
évolutivité du produit

Un paquet de fichiers décompressés,fort bien et apres ,on fait quoi ? pas de EXE ,comment lancer S5 avec un PPS par exemple.. Merci

Ce n’est pas un logiciel traditionel ! Ici tu as un canevas te permettant de realiser tes presentations. Tu as donc dans l’archive des fichiers html que tu dois modifier a la main pour les adapter a la presentation que tu souhaites faire. Les fichiers au format pps, sont des presentations deja realisees, enregistrees dans un format qui necessite d’avoir un logiciel sachant interpreter ce format afin d’afficher la presentation
